In addition to the zoom button on the back of the camera, you can manually control zooming by turning a ring around the lens barrel, just as you would with a conventional SLR film camera. For complete control over depth of field, you have a choice of 10 levels in 1/3 EV steps. And when you need to get even closer, the FinePix S7000 allows smooth digital zooming up to 3.2x (in 1280 x 960-pixel mode), extending total zoom range to approximately 19.2x.
